100% Volunteer Operated
Our mission is to provide comfort in the form of a teddy bear to children who are admitted into hospitals around the nation.
We do this by completing 1/2 mile bear crawls at select events across the country and raise money at for that events local children’s hospital.
Starting in 2023 our founder Mark Haverland completed a Spartan Sprint and Super by bear crawling the entire race.
In 2024 with the support of Dan McDonald, Bryan Gray and Steve Martin we formed the official Teddy Bear Crawl Foundation by completing 10 1/2 mile bear crawls that year.
In 2025 we expanded, holding 1/2 mile bear crawls at 27 different events across the nation.
In 2026 we decided to refocus our efforts. We reduced our events at Spartan races to 9, continued our event at the New England OCR Expo, and introduced the Climb for Hope where we are raising money to help rebuild a school in the Moshi Village in Tanzania and are raising money to bring foster care children to Spartan events. On May 29 we climbed the Manitou Incline in Colorado Springs, CO and on September 5-13 we will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
To date we have been able to donate over 8,300 teddy bears to multiple children’s hospitals.
We are grateful for all of our supporters, and look forward to seeing everybody at future events.
